Leaders in Māori Design

Known also as one of the formost leaders and experts in Māori Design of which along side brother Wairere both have carved up a unique pathway influencing Māori design in Aotearoa New Zealand by adopting a  recognised design style through a wide range of mediums within the print, electronic and textiles industry as far back as 1986

This style and method of design and how it is applied sees it as a step forward beyond the frontier of the traditional Māori arts into an exciting contemporary world of the digital age while still maintaining the integrity of traditional Māori values and principles.

Tiki say's
'What differentiates
Māori design today is its ability to embrace traditional Māori arts and similarly utilise the modern tools of the digital age to create another level of artistic expression and method of communication in a modern context with profound application. This has global implications particularly to the iconography of Aotearoa New Zealand.

As a source of untapped creative potential what Māori design bring to Aotearoa, New Zealand is a degree of depth and meaning never experienced before, a way of filling the cold and empty commercil void with a living spirit. Māori design brings not only a Māori cultural perspective but a certain power rich in life, energy and sustenance. I believe this is our point of difference, our competitive advantage.
